One of the skills cultivated by geocachers (seeing what others don't) helps an EOD tech find an IED missed by others in his unit.

An interesting article on two cruises scheduled to visit the site of the sinking on it's anniversary and the reactions of some relatives of the survivors: Titanic 100th cruises spark buzz, debate.

In some ways I find it kind of tacky. In others, I'm kinda "meh, it's their money".

I found this yesterday while researching other things, and it's worth a read: The Internet Culture and Haiku. Though written in (obviously) in the context of poetry discussion and critique online, his points about the downsides of rapid communication and the effects of posting often apply to many an internet forum.
